Birth and Lactation Services

Birth Plan Consultation

I believe one of the best assets to your birth, regardless of what kind of birth you are planning, is a well written birth plan.  I encourage every one of my clients to do this, even if they feel like it is unneeded.  A birth plan is like your road map, giving everyone involved a clear direction on where to go through your labor, birth, postpartum, and even for your new little one.  And, as with any journey, considerations for the unexpected.  Having had an unplanned cesarean birth, I personally know how valuable it is to prepare for the unexpected, so to have as smooth of a transition as possible, with you maintaining as much autonomy as possible.

Along with making clear plans with everyone involved in your care, your birth plan is a tool, empowering you to better advocate for yourself and child.

I offer three services: full birth plan preparation, basic prep, and quick tips.  Click for more details.

Postpartum Doula Services

The time after the birth of your new baby can be filled with overwhelming emotions.  From bliss to exhaustion, the "fourth trimester" is a roller-coaster!  This is where a new family finds they tend to need the most help.

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who can provide education, care, and support to the new mother and family after the birth of their baby. Postpartum doulas have experience in recovering from childbirth, baby care, breastfeeding, and infant sleep. They provide non-judgmental support while meeting the general needs of the family.  They do not provide medical care to clients, but can provide families with important information so they can make informed decisions, as well as help them find the resources to better fill those needs.
